Section 9.4 Scatter Plot

A scatter plot visually represents the relationship between two variables by displaying individual points on a graph. Each point on the plot corresponds to a unique data point or observation, formed by the intersection of the values of the two variables being studied. By examining the pattern of these points, we can discern the strength and direction of the correlation between the two variables (Vogt & Johnson, 2011).
