Section 9.1 Student Learning Objectives

The next section of this chapter introduces the basic issues and tools of statistical inference. These tools are the subject matter of the second part of this book. In Chapters Chapter 9—Chapter 15 we use data on the specifications of cars in order to demonstrate the application of the tools for making statistical inference. In the third section of this chapter we present the data frame that contains this data. The fourth section reviews probability topics that were discussed in the first part of the book and are relevant for the second part. By the end of this chapter, the student should be able to:
